Job Description

• Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Feature Ownership
    • Design, develop, launch, and maintain user-facing features for professional animators
    • Build high-performance web applications focused on usability
    • Develop backend APIs and services supporting production workflows
    • Integrate ML inference endpoints and internal services via reliable APIs
    • Collaborate with designers and artists to match studio workflows
    • Refactor, test, and improve system quality and scalability
    • Contribute to engineering standards and architecture as the team grows

  Requirements

  • Experience & Skills
    • Senior or Staff full-stack engineering experience
    • Strong JavaScript and web development skills
    • Proven track record of shipping real products
    • Experience with APIs (REST, WebSockets)
    • Ability to work across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
    • Product-focused with good user and maintainability instincts
    • Autonomous, ownership-driven, pragmatic decision-maker
    • English fluency; Japanese is a plus
    • Based in Japan or willing to relocate (relocation support provided)

  Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Svelte)
  • Backend experience in Node.js, Python, or similar
  • Knowledge of production databases (Postgres, Redis)
  • Experience scaling systems from early-stage to production
  • Background in creative tools, SaaS, or developer products
  • Interest in animation or artist workflows
