Responsibilities

First ~6 Months: Researcher / Engineer
- Conduct quantum hardware R&D and experiments
- Design experimental setups and perform simulations
- Evaluate and characterize quantum devices
- Analyze experimental data and document findings
- Contribute to publications, conferences, and IP creation

Post 6 Months: R&D Project Manager
- Plan and manage quantum hardware development projects
- Coordinate with researchers, engineers, and external partners
- Manage budgets, research equipment, and project milestones
- Support grant applications, technical reports, and commercialization efforts
- Report progress and support strategic decisions
Skills & Requirements

Essential
- Willing to relocate to Okinawa, Japan
- Proficient in Japanese and English
- Basic knowledge of quantum physics, optics, and computing
- Experience in quantum experiments, MEMS, data analysis, or programming (Python, MATLAB)
- Motivated to drive R&D projects and collaborate across disciplines

Preferred
- Experience with ion traps, UHV, lasers, cryostats, or microfabrication
- Leadership or collaborative research experience
- Knowledge of Git and technical project management
- Interest in translating research into practical applications
